Dawn Richard has a lot to put on her resume. She’s sold platinum records as a member of Danity Kane, toured the world with Diddy-Dirty Money. But now, she’s ready to finaly venture out on her own, as a solo artist.
According to Rap-Up.com, the New Orleans-bred singer is preparing her solo debut, via Bad Boy and Interscope for later this fall.
Richard already gave fans a little taste of her solo stuff, when she released a mixtape, titled #ATellTaleHeart, in February, which consisted of 15 tracks.
She described the release as “a compilation of emotions and feelings that if you were to fall into my heart, this is what my heart would sound like.”
After the positive feedback, Richard is confident to step out on her own.
“I’ve been incredibly lucky to have been in two amazing groups, but I feel like I’ve never had the opportunity to show the world what I can do on my own,” the 27-year-old singer-songwriter said.
Until then, however, Richard will be doing her part as one-third of Diddy-Dirty Money. The group is set to hit the road in April for the “Coming Home” tour.
