Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs has long been captivating the world as the producer of the iconic group, and producing seven studio albums for the platinum outfit. But, he’s also scored hits for others, as well. He produced for Ice Cube (“Check Yo Self”) and House of Pain (“Jump Around”), as well asDr. Dre, Mobb Deep, RZA, GZA, KRS One, Goodie Mob and Wyclef Jean amongst others.
Clearly a step ahead of the rest, now Muggs has returned with a new solo album, titled Bass For Your Face, set to drop later this year.
The upcoming project is a dubstep album unlike anything else, in which Muggs combines elements of dub, glitch, rock and hip-hop to create a seamless body of work.
He calls it a “hip-hop hybird.”
“Bass For Your Face is a hip-hop hybrid album with elements of glitch, dubstep, electronic and rock. It’s where I am at the moment in my never ending quest to push the envelope of sounds and styles,” Muggs explains.
At press time, there was no release date for the upcoming album.
However, Muggs’ team put together an EPK (below) to give fans further insight into what’s to come, discussing the dubstep movement, along with the inspiration behind this monstrous new solo album.
