There’s been rumors and speculation over the follow-up to Kanye West’s popular Nike shoe, the Air Yeezy. Well, apparently, it’s coming, or at least in the works.
The folks over at NiceKicks.com spotted the Air Yeezy 2 in the recently Nike x Kobe Bryant x Robert Rodriguez film The Black Mamba”, in which West appears at a character called “The Boss” who’s is trying to add Kobe’s kicks to his collection.
In the clip, fans can catch a first look of the upcoming kicks. However, not very clear. However, NiceKicks breaks down some of the differences between the first and second generation Yeezy Airs.
“The Yeezy 2 does not use the same outsole tooling as the Nike Air Yeezy. Instead of the Nike Air Revolution outsole, the Nike Air Yeezy 2 employs the midsole and outsole tooling from Nike Air Tech Challenge II,” said the website. “In addition to the outsole, one can also tell that a contrast pink liner sits inside the black upper much like Black/Pink Yeezy.”
Further details, such as a release date and/or price tag, regarding the Air Yeezy II’s were unknown at press time.
The first generation Air Yeezy’s dropped back in April 2009 to select retailers across the nation. They sold out within minutes. Days after, Kanye thanked fans and sneaker enthusiasts for their supports, and promised the Air Yeezy 2’s were coming.
