After selling over 25 million records and touring the entire world countless times as a member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, any artist’s career would be instantly defined by those accomplishments. But even with those accomplishments in his back pocket, member Layzie Bone continues to work, and work hard.
Just last week, his team made an announcement that the Cleveland rapper plans to release not one, but two albums in late February — titled The Definiton and The Meaning, in order to finally define himself, his career and his culture.
With the initial street video “If I Can’t Do It” making its rounds, Layzie plans the follow it up with “Hear’em Knockin”, joined by his Bone Thugs group members, Krayzie Bone and Flesh-n-Bone as the first official single.
With an attitude of their back up against the wall, each Bone member promises to go hard and never stop doing what they do best in the single. Additionally, the Bow Wow-assisted track, “Every Night”, is slated to drop as the second single in the weeks leading up to the projects release date.
The projects also feature guest spots from Paul Wall, Chamillionare, Too $hort, Ya Boy, Baby Bash and more.
Layzie Bone eventually released his first solo album in 2001, titled Thug By Nature. After following it up with It’s Not A Game in 2005, the rapper then recorded several collaborative albums with Young Noble from the Outlawz, A.K. from Do or Die and the street acclaimed Bone Brothers albums with fellow group member Bizzy Bone.
Now, he’s finally circled back with an album of his own.
Both The Definiton and The Meaning are set to drop February 22.
