Primary Music Inks Deal With DJ Skee, Producer Duo Ryan & Smitty

DJ SkeeNew York-based Primary Wave Music, one of the largest indie music publishing and management companies, recently inked deals with DJ Skee and up-and-coming producers, Ryan & Smitty.

Skee inked a management contract with the company, while the west coast production duo of Ryan & Smitty have been signed to a co-publishing deal.

In addition to being one of the most popular DJs in the hip-hop world, DJ Skee has made a name for himself over the past few years, recently being named one of Billboard Magazine’s “Power Players: 30 Under 30”, and partnering with viral lifestyle channel KarmaloopTV.

He also has four Sirius/XM radio shows, a show on KIIS-FM in LA, and is the face of popular video production company Skee.TV.

To Skee, signing with Primary Wave will take him to the next level.

As for Ryan & Smitty, the pair met through mutual friends in Los Angeles in 2008, and instantly felt a spark of musical kinship. After years of separately working in complete opposite spectrums of punk and gospel music in Las Vegas and Detroit, the duo discovered writing pop hooks and developing artists as a team brought them the most satisfaction and success. They burst onto the scene in 2009 with Chris Brown’s “Go Away” (Jive), and then found further success with Jaicko Lawrence’s single “Fast Forward” (Capitol), and have recently worked with artists such as Cymphonique, Mann, Jo Jo, and Cody Simpson.
