This week’s Billboard 200 albums chart is ruled by country music — Taylor Swift holds no. 1 for second week in a row, while Jason Aldean and Sugarland take the following positions.
There are still a few urban releases still holding onto the top 20.
Mariah Carey’s second holiday album, Merry Christmas II You, jingles in at no. 4 with 55,000 first week sales, marking the singer’s 16th top 10 set. Her last X-mas album, 1994’s Merry Christmas, peaked at no. 3.
Lil Wayne’s I Am Not a Human Being slipped to no. 5, selling another 49,000 in its sixth chart week, taking his total to over 410,000.
Eminem’s Recovery calls to no. 7 with 38,000, and Trey Songz’ Passion, Pain & Pleasure comes in at no. 16 with 21,000.
Closing out the top 20 is a new release from N.E.R.D. Their new album, Nothing, debuts at no. 20 with 20,000 sold in its first week.
Then, way down at no. 61, is Pitbull’s Armando, debuting with just 7,200 copies sold.
That wraps things up this week. To cop any of these new releases, head over to Amazon.com.
