Foxy Brown hasn’t always had the best track record when it comes to being easy to work with. Her diva ways are well documented, and surfaced again last week when she left an NYC nightclub in the lurch by showing up hours late and refusing the car they sent to pick her up.
According to TMZ, the rapper was scheduled to perform at Splash Bar New York in Manhattan on Wednesday night (October 6), but failed to show on time when Foxy’s camp phoned the promoter, furious, over the vehicle sent to chauffeur her to the venue.
Apparently, Foxy had requested a 2010 model SUV, but instead she got a 2009. When it arrived, she refused to get in.
Despite the issue, she eventually gave in, but showed up at the club 30 minutes before closing. She also never took the stage, claiming the promoters refused to pay her the other half of her $1,000 appearance fee.
“They promised they would give her the rest of the deposit and balance due when she arrived, but did not,” a rep for Foxy told TMZ. “Foxy was disappointed that the deposit and rider requirements were not met, that was all.”
At press time, the club’s promoters had not filed a lawsuit again the rapper, but said they were currently “discussing their legal options.”
Foxy Brown hasn’t had a major hit single since the late 1990s. Her last album, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, dropped independently in 2008, but failed to make an impact.
