There’s been rumors about this signing, but nothing was ever confirmed. But, it’s official now — the Clipse are signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint.
The duo’s Pusha-T surprised bloggers and hip-hop fans on Sunday (September 12) when he hit the stage during Kanye West’s closing performance at the MTV VMAs to spit his verse from West’s new single “Runaway.”
After Pusha left the stage, he confirmed the signing with MTV’s post-show.
“I’m definitely signed with G.O.O.D. Music. I’m definitely doing my solo project through G.O.O.D. Music,” the rapper said. “The Clipse is definitely coming with a new Clipse project. We’re definitely coming with the Re-Up Game project. The family is still here, man. It’s just all about G.O.O.D. Music, straight up.”
On Friday (September 10), West dropped the latest offering from his G.O.O.D. Friday movement, which was also titled “G.O.O.D Friday.” The song features Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Common, Charlie Wilson and … Pusha T.
The Clipse duo, consisting of Pusha and Malice, were originally signed to Pharrell’s Star Trak label, where they released their last three albums.
However, now it seems they’ve switched teams.
