Rapper Petey Pablo was arrested at a North Carolina airport Saturday morning (September 11) and hit with weapons charges when he tried to bring a gun through security.
According to reports, the 37-year-old rapper (real name: Moses Barrett III) was caught by security at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport with a Smith & Wesson 639 in his carry-on luggage.
He was arrested, and charged with: carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of a stolen firearm.
Petey was later released on $50,000 bail, and is now scheduled to appear in court on Monday (September 13).
He was reportedly trying to hop on a flight to Los Angeles for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
The rapper is best known for his debut hit single “Raise Up” in 2001, and “Freek-A-Leek” in 2004.
