Over the weekend, tweets from Kanye West expressing his desire for a collaboration with Raekwon and Justin Bieber seemed a little far-fetched. But, it seems as though it’s becoming a reality.
Apparently, the trio are gearing up to head to the studio to make West’s wish a come true. The Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon revealed to Rap-Up.com this week that the right people are talking are it’s “in the makings” as we speak.
“It’s already in the makings. People are talking. So when people are talking, we have to respond to the things that we’re talking about,” the Chef told the mag/website.
While the collaboration with Bieber doesn’t exactly seem like a perfect match, Rae says he respects him and West and can’t wait to get the track done.
“Just on the strength that I look at them two as being great artists in the game and at the end of the day, it’s all about just keeping yourself relevant and making great music,” the rapper said. “It’s very interesting for me, so I’m sure it’s going to be killer. I can’t wait to hear it. I’m supposed to get on top of everything [today] and go see what it’s about.
“I think [Justin Bieber is] a talented artist and I think that he’s the new generation’s Justin Timberlake,” Raekwon later added. “He’s a new talent and a new face in the game, and he has a great voice. I think he’s got style. For my name to be called, it’s an honor and I would work with them just for the fact that the thought even came to mind. At the end of the day, I’m down for the get-down.”
In the rest of Rap-Up’s Q&A with Raekwon, the legendary rapper explains how fast the collaboration is happening, why he thinks it will be “fire” and more. Read it over at their website, Rap-Up.com.
