DJ Premier and Pete RockLegendary hip-hop producers, Pete Rock and DJ Premier, have announced plans for a joint project together.

That’s all we know at this point. Further details about the project, including its title and release date, were unknown at press time.

Pete Rock announced the upcoming joint effort in response to fans’ excitement for his upcoming performance with DJ Premier at the July 7th birthday party for Hot 97 personality Peter Rosenberg in New York City.

“I see some of ya’ll talking about that boat ride with seifer and rosenberg with premiere and myself, dats gonna be nuts!!!” PR tweeted just moments before the collabo album news.

According to TheBoomBox.com, PR and DJ Premier teamed up for a live show in Toyko, Japan in May to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Manhattan Records. The two producers battled it out on the turntables at Toyko’s Ebisu Liquid Room in front of a packed house.

Both producers are widely considered two of the greatest in hip-hop’s storied history. They’ve created classic productions for the likes of Nas, Guru, M.O.P., and CL Smooth, and now are combining their efforts for one project.
