Former NFL star Lawrence Taylor was officially indicted on rap charges, stemming from an incident in early May where he was accused of hiring a 16-year-old prostitute in New York.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the 51-year-old NFL Hall of Famer was indicted on number of charges including: criminal sexual act, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and patronizing a prostitute.
Taylor was arrested on May 6th at a Holiday Inn in Montebello, 25 miles north of New York City, after he allegedly paid $300 for sex with an underage girl.
However, he denies knowing her age or having sex with her. His defense team is expected to say he use masturbation in their case.
LT’s agent Mark Lepselter says their legal team “made a strategic decision to not put any of our evidence in front of the grand jury. We look forward to presenting our evidence at the appropriate time.”
Taylor’s lawyer tells TMZ that they knew the indictment was coming — and they’re confident they will succeed in proving his innocence.
