Pitbull Cancels Arizona Tour Stop In Protest of State’s New Immigration Law

PitbullMiami rapper, Pitbull, announced late Thursday (May 13) — via his official website and social networking profiles — that he’s decided to pull out of his May 31st tour stop in Phoenix, Arizona.

The rapper said his decision was made in protest of the recent passing of the state’s controversial SB1070 legislation, which in short, makes it a state misdemeanor crime for an illegal alien to be in Arizona without carrying legal documents.

“I am canceling my concert in Phoenix on May 31. How is the country we enjoy and love bcuz of its human rights, freedom, opportunity and that has been built by immigrants, now start 2 deny them? It is contradicting 2 everything the USA stands 4,” Pitbull said in a tweet (@PlanetPit).

Pitbull is the latest in a host of other top artists, politicians, community leaders and citizens expressing their disapproval of the new law.

Despite the cancellation, other dates on the AEG Live-promoted “Mr. Worldwide’s Carnaval” tour will continue as scheduled.

  1. Good For you Pitbull, Its great to see people take action against the RACISTS who hide under cover blaming their own crap on poor migrants who want to feed their families.
I am not saying don’t close the borders, I am saying STOP THE FOOLISH HATE, ALL ARE GODS CHILDREN.

  2. I applaud PittBull,,,he’s right. The Arizona governer, besides that she comes off like a dummy, is misguided and is wrong on this new law. Bottom line, the law is anti american. It’s a bad law because of how it might treat americans that might look like an illegal immigrant. I sure aint goin to Arizona any time soon.

  3. The people that are protesting this law don’t know the facts. Do research before you start bitching like wack ass Pitbull.

  4. YEAH LETS JUST HAVE A OPEN FUCKIN BORDER AND LET EVERYBODY IN. MEXICO HAVE THE TOUCHEST IMGRATION LAWS IN THE WORLD TRY BEING AN ILEGAL CENTRAL AMERICAN IN MEXICO AND SEE HOW QUICK THE COPS LOCK YOUR ASS UP EVERY CONTRY IN THE WORL HAVE IMIGRATION LAWS SO WHY ARE WE RACIST FOR HAVING THEM FUCK PITBULL AND EVERY OTHER RAPPER WHO THINK WE SHOULD NOT ENFORCE OUR LAWS AND IF HTE FEDS WONT DO BIGUP TO THE STATE THAT STEP UP

  5. Arizona is already struggling financially and now they want to kick out all of the illegal immigrants plus deal with a economic boycott!!! RIP Arizona

  6. what is he a fuckin idiot, you better go get your paper and stop fuckin with these people politics.

He need to go get that money and bounce soon the show is over dont spend none of it in Arizona, dont even get a hotel, now that will be a smart move, take their money and run.

You canceling your show doesn’t hurt Arizona it just hurt your pocket

  7. @ Multi-reallionaire… Illegal Immigrants are what’s causing AZ their financial problems.

  8. I know the governers neiece, she lives up the street from me in Glendale, AZ and she’s getting alotta shit from ppl to. SHE even disagrees with the governer, her own aunt lol…IDK I think it woulda been better if Pitbull came out here (in AZ) and at his concert, express his thoughts about this shit. A big F*%# you to Jan Brewer, the governer

  9. @Frank Rizzo……Illegal or not, most immigrants work here and spend money here. Deporting them is only going to make matters worse. Arizona’s financial problems are the same as other states.

  10. @ Multi-rellionaire. Fail. Some of them work, majority of them live off of the system and any money the make is sent back to Mexico. They don’t pay taxes and they are killing the state. Illegal is not a race and they should just start shooting them to set a precedence. I’m sick of the cocksuckers running across the border and having a dozen kids (who are then automatically us citizens). If something is not done it will only continue to get worse.

  11. @Frank Rizzo…..You’re right. Crossing the border is illegal and wrong. Arizona and other neighboring states should just simply close their borders, not pass laws harassing the people that are already here.
