Juvenile revealed this week that he is set to release a new street album in July, titled Beast Mode, via a deal with E1 Music for his UTP imprint.
The album’s first single is a track called “Drop That Azz.”
“The main reason for putting out this record in the summer is that it’s a summer album. I made this album for my fans, especially for my female fans out there,” Juve said.
The New Orleans legend came to national prominence as a teenage member of the Cash Money’s group, the Hot Boys, alongside Lil Wayne, B.G. and Turk. The group’s 1997 debut, Get It How U Live, was followed by their platinum record Guerilla Warfare. When Juve went solo and finally dropped his major label debut, 400 Degreez, it sold 4.5 million records and is universally considered a southern hip-hop classic.
Since the early days, Juve’s released a total of nine solo albums. Beast Mode will be his 10th.
It’s the follow up to Juvenile’s last album, Cocky and Confident, which was released last year on UTP/Atlantic/E1 Music. It’s due out July 6th.
