Legendary Texas rapper Bun B was reportedly injured during a stop in Stockholm, Sweden, during his participation in the 2010 Gumball 3000.
According to reports, the rapper fell off the stage at a concert, connected to the annual rally race, injuring his knee and right arm.
Despite his injuries, he refused to go to the hospital because he didn’t want to miss his flight to the U.S. that morning for the North American leg of the race.
“We were all going on stage and it got kind of crowded. Someone fell onto me and I ended up falling off the stage and I split my knee open and sprained my ligaments in my right arm,” Bun B wrote in a statement. “The problem was the injury happened at 4:30AM and we had to get on the bus at 8AM to catch the plane to America. If I had gone to the hospital I would have missed the flight so someone gave me Extra Strength Excedrin.”
The rapper says if he stopped for medical attention, he would’ve been disqualified from the race, which he wanted to finish.
“This is the 4th day since the injury and I still haven’t gone to a doctor. I can’t afford to miss the Gumball,” said Bun.
The Gumball 3000 is a two-continent road race that is 3,000 miles long. It began last weekend in London and concluded in New York’s Times Square. In addition to Bun B, other participates included Eve, Xzibit, DJ Muggs, Estevan Oriol and others.
