Nearly a month after a Los Angeles judge ordered rapper Nas to pay estranged wife Kelis for back child and spousal support, he is now asking the judge to take another look because he can’t afford his monthly payment to her.
In early April, the rapper (real name: Nasir Jones) was ordered to immediately pay Kelis over $87,000 in back spousal and child support, in addition to legal fees … and to continue making a $10,000 a month payment.
However, according to TMZ, Nas says it’s more than he can afford.
In new court documents obtained TMZ, the rapper is said to make around $152,000+ a month, but says it’s “substantially less than that amount.”
Nas’ lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is asking the judge to take a look at his financial records to re-consider his monthly payment.
