With the May 1st showdown between Floyd Mayweather and “Sugar” Shane Mosley approaching quickly, both fighters are making their rounds, promoting the fight heavily at every stop.
To make it more interesting, you know there would be a little smack talking.
During a recent stop by George Lopez’s late night show, “Lopez Tonite,” the comedian asked Mosley flat out: “Can you knock Floyd out?”
What do you think he said? Yes, of course.
“Definitely,” Mosley replied to Lopez’s question.
“Will you knock Floyd out?” the comedian followed up.
“I will knock Floyd out,” the boxer said.
According to Sugar Shane, he’s got two things Mayweather has yet to face — power and speed, both of which will tip the scales in his favor.
“Mayweather is gonna feel the power, but not only that, he’s gonna see the speed. The speed’s gonna be the difference in that fight,” Mosley said.
In Floyd Mayweather’s nearly 15-year professional boxing career, he’s remained undefeated, held titles in five weight classes, and defeated some of the best fighters in the sport’s history. Some of those include victories over Oscar De La Hoya, Zah Judah, Arturo Gatti, and Ricky Hatton, among others.
Now, Mosley will try to put a blemish on his perfect record when they hop into the ring on May 1st at Las Vegas’ MGM casino. The fight will also air on HBO Pay-Per-View.
