Cool & DreVibe magazine’s online destination, VIBE.com, launched a new poll last week, where they plan to declare the “Greatest Hip-Hop Producer of All-Time” with the help of fans.

Like their previous voting promotions — Best Rapper Alive and Best Rapper of All-Time — the contest is set up like a bracket tournament with fans determining who advances to the next round. Each producer is pitted again another, and in the end, one producer will claim the title of the “Greatest Hip-Hop Producer.”

“As hip-hop’s advanced from looped beat breaks to crisp samples and drum machines, the producer has laid the foundation for a constantly evolving hip-hop genre. Now, you’ve got the chance to decide once and for all who’s the best behind the boards,” Vibe says on their website.

The first bracket is titled “Hometown Sound,” where names like Dr. Dre, DJ Toomp, Ant Banks, Rick Rock, DJ Quik, and Shock G, among others, are included.

There are three other brackets though: Soul Sample, Boom-Bap and Mass Appeal.

Mass Appeal includes beatmakers like The Neptunes, Scott Storch, Lil Jon, and Will.i.am; Soul Sample includes Kanye West, No ID, the Alchemist, and Cool & Dre; and Boom-Bap includes producers such as Havoc, DJ Premier, Jam Master Jay, DJ Muggs, and Dame Grease.

Each bracket is decided in four rounds of voting, with the final eight going head to head, before being narrowed down to four, and then two.

Here’s the breakdown of their schedule:

4/05 – First Round Begins
4/19 – Second Round Begins
4/26 – Third Round Begins
5/03 – Elite 8 Producer Battle Begins
5/10 – Final Four Producer Battle Begins
5/17 – Final Round Begins
5/24 – Winner Announced
