P. Miller, formerly Master P, is always up for supporting a good cause. The latest is a MMA event that is benefiting the people in Haiti.
Miller announced this week that he’ll be a judge at the upcoming Worldwide Gladiator Championship (WGC) “Fight For Haiti” event, featuring Alaskan-bred heavyweight Sam Hoger, most notable for appearing on the first season of UFC’s “The Ultimate Fighter”.
Hoger will take on Chris Guillen in a heavyweight match-up.
“Mixed martial arts is the fastest growing sports in the world. And to have the WGC bring awareness to education and helping the kids in Haiti get back into the school systems, I’m in. Together we can make a difference,” Miller said of his participation in the event.
Haiti, the Western Hemisphere’s poorest nation, was hit by a catastrophic 7.0 earthquake on January 12, 2010. Since then, the whole world has helped in relief efforts.
WGC’s “Fight For Haiti” event are set to help in the recovery process in Haiti, focusing on basic education. All proceeds from the event will go towards building schools for kids in Haiti. P. Miller, Sam Hoger and other WGC fighters will visit schools in Houston and Pasadena, Texas to speak to students about the importance of education.
Sam Hoger says, “We are dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of these underprivileged kids through education.”
The event will take place in Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, Texas on April 9th. Doors open at 7pm.
