The net has been buzzing for the past week over a rumored collaboration between superproducer Dr. Dre and Jay-Z. The pair up is said to be for the first single of Dre’s long-awaited Detox album.
While details regarding the single are still sketchy, the collaboration seems as though it has been confirmed via a photo leaked of the superstars together in the studio. The photo popped up on ThisIs50.com.
E! News’correspondent, Michael Yo, tweeted about the single, which he says will leak this week? “Look for it this week New Jay Z and Dr Dre!!!” he tweeted (@ItsMichaelYo).
Yo later followed up by saying: “Everyone buzzing about it at Interscope Records.”
While further info is scarce, music blog YouHeardThatNew.com says they spoke to another source close to the label who says the single is “up-tempo,” and is intended to be Detox’s first single.
A source tells us that Interscope is pressuring Dr. Dre to finish the album by the summer, and that he’s around 85% finished.
Neither Dre nor Jay have commented about the speculation over the single. We’ll see if the single pops up anytime soon.
Stay tuned for details …
