Last year Rihanna shot to super stardom, thanks to all the media attention she received from her very public altercation with Chris Brown. Now, she’s parlaying her new fame into Hollywood.
If a recent report is correct, RiRi has landed a movie role alongside Samuel L. Jackson in an upcoming remake of the 1985 martial arts film, The Last Dragon.
In the film, she is rumored to play a dominatrix, and has been asked to research the part.
An insider tells the Daily Star: “She has landed an incredibly challenging role alongside Samuel L. Jackson. But it’s not a part for the faint-hearted. She will play a super sexy, super kinky dominatrix.
“She has been told to research the part — and this could well include a trip to an S&M dungeon.”
Rihanna’s reps have yet to deny or confirm the singer’s involvement in the martial arts remake. However, the film’s co-producer, the RZA, told MTV in December that he felt Rihanna would be his ideal choice for the film’s leading lady.
“That’s the one I’m rooting for,” RZA said. “We’re keeping that same concept of the girl being in the music business.”
So far, Rihanna has not had any major film roles. She appeared in a cameo role to the film, Bring It On: All or Nothing, in 2006.
And, according to Wikipedia, she will appear in a film called Personal Protection, which will begin shooting this year.
