Over the past few years, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has doing several different things outside the rock band that made him a star. If you’ve paid attention, you know that he’s been working heavily with a lot of big name and rising hip-hop acts.

Well, he’s working on a solo album, and those same hip-hop acts that he’s played his trademark drum sessions to are set to appear on what is to be his first solo album. Among the names being thrown around, it’s said that artists like Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, RZA, The Game, Beanie Sigel and Swizz Beatz will make appearances.

In a recent interview with Spinner.com, the drummer explains how everything formalized, and also clears up whether you’ll hear his vocals on the project.

“I’m not singing or being an MC or anything,” Barker told the site. “Over the last five years, when Blink wasn’t around, I played a lot by myself or did a whole bunch of stuff with just me. Whether I was playing with T.I. or doing whatever, it just opened another world for me.”

While details and guests are still sketchy, Barker says that fans shouldn’t expect the music to fit into one genre, because it will be a mix of all types of styles of music that he loves.

“I’m rounding it out right now,” he says. “I just love music. The more I can be around it the better, so with my album it’s no one genre. It goes from everything from punk rock to hip-hop to some electro stuff on there to a metal song with Corey Taylor from Slipknot. It’s been really fun and interesting up till now.”

At press time, it was unknown when the project would be released. Stay tuned…
