Omarion Replaces Shane Sparks As Judge On ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’

The Season Five premiere of MTV’s “American Best Dance Crew” (ABDC) is slated to premiere next Thursday (January 28) … and its got a new judge.

R&B singer Omarion has joined the judges’ table, alongside J.C. Chasez (former of *NSYNC) and rapper Lil Mama (“Voice of the Young People”) to find this season’s best dance crew.

“I’m so excited to be a judge on MTV’s ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’,” says Omarion. “Dancing and performing is what I do and being a judge on this show will allow me to give creative feedback to the newest and hottest dancers on the rise.”

“Omarion is a great friend and I am looking forward to him joining the ABDC family,” added Randy Jackson, executive producer of “America’s Best Dance Crew.” “Season Five is going to be blazing hot.”

The singer is replacing previous judge, Shane Sparks, who was arrested on eight counts of child molestation in December.

If you haven’t watch any of the previous seasons, ABDC is a hit dance competition series featuring some of the hottest crews and high school phenoms, as they perform week-to-week for a $100,000 cash prize and bragging rights with the title of “America’s Best Dance Crew.”

It airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m., beginning January 23rd, and promises more of the jaw-dropping dance moves and stunts viewers have come to love.

It will feature five crews each from the West, South and East, all 15 will compete in regional battles to the finish. The first three episodes will narrow these 15 crews down to the final nine that will compete this season.

Show devotees can log onto and to catch up on the most recent seasons by viewing full episodes, and can check-out cast bios, photo flipbooks and other show-related information.

Aside from being added a judge on the new show, Omarion has also just released his third solo album, Ollusion, which landed at no. 19 on the Billboard 200 this week.

It boasts 11 tracks, including the singles “I Get It In” featuring Gucci Mane, “Hoodie” featuring Jay Rock, and his latest one … “Speedin’.”

  1. This’ll be a good test for him, since he say he the best dancer. Him and Chris Brown should have a 3 day battle and let america decide.

  2. I think lil mama should be replace. Here is a tip people. if your going to be on tv, talk proper english! “yeah, yeah…you what im saying” :(

  3. I’m going to miss Shane as a judge. I thought he really knew what he was talking about when it comes to dancing. I hope everything goes well for him. But for Shane’s replacement, they could have picked someone else other than Omarion. He can dance but I really don’t think he knows how to judge anyone on their dancing and the same goes for Lil Mama. She should have been gone. But Omarion tries to be a hard judge when he had to be taught himself. He isn’t a choreographer.
