Actors Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman have all reportedly jumped onboard for a sequel to the 2008 blockbuster, “Hancock.”
Director Peter Berg will, once again, help the different-style superhero story. According to Variety, confirmed the news at the recent Toronto Film Festival.
“Everybody’s going to come back for a sequel,” he said.
A script is currently in the works with writers Adam Fierro (“24,” “Dexter”) and Glen Mazzara (“The Shield”). However, details regarding the plot and storyline are being kept under wraps.
Berg did say that Smith and Theron will once again play immortal gods, who lose their powers when in each other’s presence. This time, they’ll have to pair up to deal with a third entity. Bateman will also return as the PR guy who transformed Hancock’s public image.
It will also expected to explore the 3,000-year-old world they’re from, which was only hinted at in the first film.
At press time, there was no set release date for the flick.
