New York rapper Tru Life remains behind bars after being arrested on second degree murder and in June, and is awaiting arraignment.
Since his arrest, his lawyer Alan Abramson has stated that the rapper is innocent. In a statement to XXL, he broke his silence, but didn’t offer too much info as they await his court appearance.
“At this point [Tru Life’s] still incarcerated and he’s awaiting arraignment in Supreme Court,” Abramson said.
He further revealed that the rapper (real name: Roberto Guzman Rosado, Jr.) hasn’t official been charged in the case, despite entering a not guilty plea. He says they are awaiting their initial court appearance to find out the official charges.
However, Abramson stated that he’s confident that Tru Life will be cleared of any charges thrown against him.
“He is an extraordinarily talented young artist and we believe that he will be vindicated of any charge they throw against him,” he said.
Tru Life was arrested last month on a second-degree murder charge, in connection with a stabbing a week before. He — and his brother Marcus Rosado — is accused of fatally stabbing a man and leaving another man in critical condition. Authorities believe the altercation took place as part of an eariler dispute between two parties.
