Delaware’s most recognized MC, Fred Knuxx, has signed a deal with California based record label WongGee Inc., where the indie emcee will release his debut album, The Big Deal.
The rapper is currently in the lab hard at work on the new album. However, until his official album hits, he will be offering fans two appetizers. He is planning the release of two street albums over the summer — the DJ Bedtyme 357 hosted King Of Grind, and his long awaited project Delafornia.
The latter, a junction of his home area Delaware and California, will feature guest appearances by G. Malone, Spider Loc and more.
“I decided to sign with WongGee Inc. because they understood my vision as an artist and seemed genuine about executing it and taking me to the next level,” said Fred Knuxx, regarding the deal. “This is a big move for me, my family and Delaware. I worked so hard to get to this point and will work even harder to get to the next step. It’s just the beginning for me. I am living proof that hard work really pays off.”
CEO of WongGee Inc, Antoine Keane, adds, “We are very excited making Fred Knuxx the flagship artist for our label. Knuxx is a special artist and we look forward to taking his career to the next level.”
Over the past few years, Fred has maintained a buzz not only in the streets, but online as well. In 2007, Vibe magazine named him one of the top 51 unsigned rappers in the country. Before that accolade, it was his versatile and honest rhyme style who helped make him a well-respected underground heavyweight.
In the meantime, you can catch Fred Knuxx in Atlanta June 25th and 26th, where he will be performing at The Atlanta Record Pool Conference.
