EshamDetroit rapper Esham, known for creating the rap subgenre acid rap, announces plans this week for a summer tour called A Hellava Night.

In conjunction with, the rapper kicked off the tour on Tuesday (June 2) in Ohio, and will head across the nation, hitting Charlotte, Denver, Seattle, Hollywood, and Arizona, before things come to a close on June 28 in New Mexico.

Each stop, Esham and company plan to leave concertgoers with a full hip-hop show experience and a hangover.

The tour features the majority of Esham’s label roster including Natas, Mastamind and the official debut of rising star, Daniel Jordan. Flint, Michigan’s trap kings Project Born will also be performing, while Detroit’s original mixtape king DJ Butter will be rocking the turntables throughout the night.

Blending smashmouth hip -op with hard rock, dnb and Motown soul, Esham promises to bring an unforgettable trip hop extravaganza for party people nationwide.

“The sole purpose of A Hellava Night is to bring our monumental Detroit party to each and every town we visit,” explains Esham. “The show is catered to the people who love live music performed with parliament-funkadelic theatrics and heavy metal intensity. This is an all night party, expect freestyle battles, mosh pits and everything in between.”

In addition to the tour, Esham has a number of other projects in the works. His Aknu Media company is set to release their first DVD, “Reel Life: The Movie”, on August 4th, which highlights the prodigious rise of Esham and his tumultuous career in music. Accompany the DVD is the 20th anniversary, remastered edition of Boomin Words from Hell, an album regarded as the beginning of the Detroit hardcore rap movement.

Esham’s new, limited edition album I Ain’t Cha Homey will be released in limited edition to select retailers domestically on July 17th.
