In this installment of our Scouting Report, we’d like to introduce you to rising talent, Kevin Cossom. Not only is he an amazing vocally, but he’s also got a wicked pen game. He got his start in hip-hop, writing hooks for several rappers. But it was when he landed the track “Karma” on Lloyd Banks’ solo debut, The Hunger for More, that he realized he had a knack for the writing game. Today, his writing credits includes Young Jeezy’s “Go Getta,” and Keri Hilson’s “Knock You Down,” among others.
His talents garnered him the attention of superproducer Danja, who is fully supporting Kevin’s leap into a solo career as an artist, eventually landing him a deal with N.A.R.S Records, via a joint venture with Jive Records.
Before you start hearing him all over the radio and on features, we caught up with Kevin to talk about his beginnings in the music biz, his musical style, influences, and what’s coming in the near future. Time to get acquainted with Kevin Cossom.
