Since her highly-publicized fight with boyfriend Chris Brown nearly two weeks ago, Rihanna has been hiding out, shying away from any type of media attention. Now, she’s finally surfaced.
In photos that leaked in the New York Daily News’ print edition Thursday (February 26), the 21-year-old singer showed up in Punta Mita, Mexico, walking along the beach.
In the new photos, a bikini-clad Rihanna looks just fine, with the bumps and bruises — that were seen in the photo of her taken immediately following the altercation — noticably absent.
Since the February 8th incident with Brown that left her bloodied and bruised, the singer has only been seen in a couple backseat photos, as she traveled in a black SUV. Today’s photo was reportedly taken at a private villa on Saturday (February 21), just one day after she celebrated her 21st birthday in L.A.
According to reports, the L.A. district attorney’s office said that their investigation into the matter was still open, and a decision whether or not felony charges against Brown would be seeked is currently pending.
Brown, on the other hand, is taking an anger-management class, said the New York paper. He began the class on Monday (February 32) in Glendale, California.
“Chris doesn’t actually have to go by law,” a source told the Daily News. “But he believes it will make him look better to the public, and he wants to try to get in a few classes before March 5.”
The couple were expected to appear in court on March 5, but that may be pushed back.
“We don’t have the evidence yet. [Los Angeles police detectives] are still investigating. If [detectives] determine they need more time, they’ll set a new date for him (Brown) to come into court,” Los Angeles district attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison said in a statement. “He only has to come back if and when we file charges.”
