Mariah Carey is very busy these days. She has a new film out, and recently married Nick Cannon just over a week ago, but she’s planning for the future pretty quickly.
39-year-old Carey is already planning to start a family with her 27-year-old hubby, she tells the New York Daily News.
“It’s part of the whole purpose of getting married. I’d just want our children to have the best childhood and upbringing they possibly could,” Carey told the paper.
The pop diva also unveiled a new tattoo on her neck bearing her married name to chat show queen Oprah Winfrey on April 14, and admits only those who knew of her new inking were aware of their plans to wed.
“I don’t think anyone realized what we already knew, that we were going to get married,” she revealed.
The shotgun wedding was also surprising to Nick, who said he was at a loss for words when it was time to say “I do.”
“I haven’t been shy in years, but I was speechless. I was elated, but I was thinking, ‘Don’t pass out,'” he admitted.
