Supermodel Naomi Campbell was arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport on Thursday (April 3) for allegedly spitting at a police officer.
According to the UK’s Sky News, the 37-year-old model was arrested at the airport’s terminal 5 on suspicion of assaulting police, after the loss of one of her bags.
Reports by The Sun indicate that Campbell became furious when one of her bags were lost, and then harassed airline staff despite assurances that her luggage would be found.
Staff alerted police, but the model was still yelling as she boarded the plane. When police tried to calm her, she allegedly spat in an officer’s face. She was immediately hauled away, still “screaming and ranting.”
An eyewitness told The Sun, “She attacked a male police officer and spat at him and she was taken to the airport police station.”
A Heathrow spokeswoman, however, confirmed that a passenger was removed by police, but did not confirm the identity.
Campbell was reportedly taken to the Heathrow police station.
