Atlanta Celebrity Trainer In Coma After Brutal Beating

Atlanta based celebrity fitness trainer, Darius Miller, is in critical condition in an Atlanta hospital after becoming the victim of a brutal beating when he attempted to stop a group of men from filming three women as he escorted them to their vehicles following a night on the town. Two of the women have been identified as daughters of Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.

According to reports, 41-year-old Miller was escorting 35-year-old Kai Franklin Graham, 29-year-old Kali Jamilla Franklin and a third woman to their vehicles at around 2:50 a.m. at a parking lot near popular Atlanta nightclub D’Jangos during which a group of at least seven men began filming the group of women.

Miller attempted to stop the men from filming, which resulted in either all or the most of the men in the group allegedly jumping Miller, beating him unconscious.

The group of men are rumored to be contracted by local promotions company, 01 Entertainment, but thus far, lawyers for the company claim that Miller was knocked unconscious after he fell to the ground during a physical confrontation with a cameraman.

On Friday (December 28), an arrest warrant was issued for 24-year-old Apollo Holmes in relation to the beating, and on Monday (December 31), he turned himself in to Atlanta police and was charged with aggravated assault.

As of Friday, Miller remained in a coma at Emory Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta. On Monday Atlanta police spokesman James Polite told the Associated Press that Miller remained in critical condition, but declined to discuss his condition any further.

While at the hospital, his celebrity clientele has come to support Miller in his time of need. Celebs such as rapper Mase, singer Keshia Knight Pulliam, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Takeo Spikes, T-Boz and Ronnie DeVoe of New Edition have all visited Miller.
