In another strange twist of events regarding the Chris Stokes/Raz B molestation claims, Ricky Romance (real name: Ricardo Thornton) — the older brother of Raz — has come forward to say that he and his brother were molested by Stokes, despite Raz recently retracting his sexual abuse claims in a recent video statement released to YouTube.com.
In a video posted on December 26th, Raz B (real name: Demario Thorton) issues a public apology to Chris Stokes, stating that the original footage where he claims Stokes “touched” him as a teenager was leaked without his permission and that those claims are “not true.”
Ricardo disagrees. “We were both molested by Chris Stokes,” Ricardo Thornton told Bossip.com in a recent interview. “And he’s sick. And I wish we would have just been family. You know, it hurts my feelings to have to talk to him and to have to go through all of these different situations and conversations just to try to get a resolution. There ain’t no resolution. The resolution is the D.A. needs to pick up this case and it needs to be handled.”
The Thornton brothers caused a stir on the internet a few days before Christmas when two videos were leaked to YouTube, in which they were heard on the phone with several people, including Stokes, speaking about being molested as young teenagers.
Shortly after the videos leaked, Stokes responded immediately with a statement released through his publicist, saying the claims held “no merit” and that he would take any legal action necessary to prove his innocence.
Raz B then came forward, shortly afterward, recanting his claim and apologizing for any pain he had caused Stokes.
Despite Raz’s change of heart, Ricardo further explained that Stokes had been sexually abusing his brother Raz since the age of 11 years old, and him from the time the group Immature formed in 1993. But he wasn’t aware Raz was until three weeks ago.
“We were actually just at my mom’s house,” he said. “We were hanging out, you know. And he told me. And when he told me, I realized that I had [dial tone] … You know it was just something that I had to just step forward and handle. Like, that’s my little brother I didn’t protect him. I should have protected him.
“I know some crazy sh** was going on over there, but I couldn’t figure the sh** out, you know,” he continued. “And I should have protected my brother. You know. And I didn’t you, know what I mean? And he’s a man, you know, he has a son. You know what I mean? And he wouldn’t want something like that to happen to his son. So I’m just being the big brother and I’m protecting him. First. You know?”
When asked why they had waited so long to report it to authorities, he cut the phone call short, not answering the question.
“Well, as you know the apology video is out there,” he said. “Everyone knows about that. Reason why we have the apology video is because … you know. You know what? We gonna have to cut this interview … We gonna have to cut this interview. Yeah, I don’t feel comfortable. But you can use what you got but I can’t talk…”
Also, in related news, E Jizza, CEO of Raz B’s and Ricky’s JMC Management Group, released this statement further backing Ricardo’s claims. “I’ve been quiet, but not any longer. This story is just developing, if you don’t remember I’M the CEO of Ricky, and Raz outside company JMC Management Group. RAZ WAS FORCED INTO THAT APOLOGY AND TRUST ME THIS SH** IS DEEP. If you take a close look at the video he couldn’t even look at the lens. This was some street sh**. But will be handled the proper way. Like Ricky said in the letter, Chris Stokes is like a gay version of Suge Knight. Best way to say it if that makes sense. Get ready the F*** Chris Stokes Campaign is just getting started. It’s 100% true. Chris can’t find me!”
