Despite rumors of the couple getting secretly married back in February, Nick Cannon and girlfriend Selita Ebanks made it official Monday night (May 7) when Cannon proposed.
The MTV jokester reportedly ushered Ebanks, a Victoria’s Secret model, in a Rolls Royce Phantom to Times Square, where he surprised her with the words “Selita will you marry me?” lit up on the giant Jumbotron in the Square.
The two-story electronic proposal definitely helped seal the deal, but when Cannon whipped out a 12 carat diamond ring and dropped to one knee, that probably ensured there would be nothing but a yes answer.
After accepting the proposal, the happy couple reportedly headed to New York City hotspot Butter to celebrate. Cannon surprised Ebanks again by flying in her parents and best friends.
After partying until well into the early morning hours of Tuesday (May 8), the couple caught a private plane back to L.A. so Nick could be back at work.
Cannon is currently enjoying success with a pair of MTV reality shows — “Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out” and “Short Circuitz,” a sketch comedy sitcom.
