After nearly 10 years of recording and touring, underground hip-hop staple Non Phixion are calling it quits.
The group — which consisted of Ill Bill, Goretex, Sabac Red and DJ Eclipse — have disbanded because of an internal conflict within the group.
According to a press release from the group, the split took place because of group member Goretex’s “general unreliability and total lack of interest in touring, writing and recording music with Non Phixion.” They also stated that he was not pulling his “own weight” for them to “exist and prosper.”
“Goretex ain’t down no more,” Ill Bill’s brother Necro wrote on his official website. “I deaded him. If I see him I’m gonna smash his f*cking face into pieces.”
In order to maintain Non Phixion’s integrity among fans, the rest of the group decided to dead the group to focus on solo aspirations and projects.
Ill Bill’s Uncle Howie Records has recently joined forces with Perfect Game Recording Co./Warner Music Group to release his next solo album/DVD, The Hour of Reprisal, set to drop in 2007, following up his 2004 solo debut What’s Wrong With Bill?.
Ill Bill has also joined a new group called La Coka Nostra, which in addition to Bill features House of Pain alumni Everlast, Danny Boy, and DJ Lethal, and newcomers Slaine & Big Left.
Sabac Red is also working on his next solo album and DVD entitled The Ritual, which will feature production by Necro, Ill Bill, and others. While DJ Eclipse is working on a DVD titled “Halftime Show,” which highlights interviews and freestyles with guests from his New York radio show on 89.1 WNYU (www.wnyu.org). Both projects will be released through Uncle Howie Records.
