MJG: This Might Be The Day
MJG, Pimp Tight is at it again with his third solo album, entitled This Might Be The Day. Though some people are quick to proclaim MJG is nothing without his ace and partner in rhyme 8 Ball, like the title suggests This Might Be The Day he proves he can indeed stand on his own. No longer affiliated with the Bad Boy of rap, in Diddy, but currently signed to 404 Music label, Memphis native and veteran MJG is well on his way to receiving the recognition he's due.

If you're a true fan of Memphis rapper MJG, This Might Be The Day really needs no introduction. It's simple, he's PIMPTIGHT! "MJG / I been here and since the beginning of time / just done been feared." The horns on this intro are sick.

Wonder why MJG is never seen without a pair of his signature shades? Well, "Shades On My Face" will give you some insight on the importance of rocking a nice pair. "Shades keep the haters out / shades keep my business in / shades on all the time / atmosphere I'm living in," he raps. DJs, if you need something to get the club crunk, this is the song right here. It's definitely a beat to bang in ya ride.

8 Ball appears on the track, "What Would You Do," riding the chorus while spitting a tale of the promiscuous woman: "What would you do, if you caught yo chick giving head to another n**** / what would you do, if you caught yo bitch getting f***ed by another n****," he asks.

On "Gangsta Gangsta," PSC's Alfamega makes it hot for one simple fact: he's on it. His flow fits the gritty beat to a "T." "Light ya head like a candle / watch ya brains melt quick!" MJG chimes in on the chorus singing, "It's that gangsta gangsta hard core street sh** / deep sh** / do whatever you gotta to eat / it's hard out here / it's hard out here / we eat yo heart out here / so get some heart out here."

Overall, This Might Be The Day can be considered a certified trunk banger. Although it may not reach everyone on a national scale, fans of MJ should give credit where credit is due. The drums, the horns, and the funk puts that extra stank on the album, in addition to sprinkles from Gucci Mane, Slim of 112, GC, T-Mack and of course 8 Ball. Give it up for the legendary MJG ladies and gentlemen.
