Trina latest album, Still The Baddest Bitch, is slightly different from the raw sound that the Miami native has become known for. On this album, Trina makes an attempt to show her versatility by crafting records that delve into vulnerable side. However, in true Trina fashion, her sexual side is still conspicuously present.
Her first single, "Single Again," is a women's anthem that has proven to be a hit in the clubs, but has not garnered as much radio play. The remix, which features Rick Ross, Plies and Lil Wayne, also displays the same hard-hitting club appeal. Now, let's not forget Trina's knack for putting down the sexy for all the ladies out there. "Stop Traffic," featuring Pitbull, is a sensual ode to Trina's sex appeal that is sure to elicit fantasies into listeners' minds.
Trina's new sound is best showcased on tracks like "I Wish I Never Met You" (featuring Shonie) and "I Got A Thang For You" (featuring Keyshia Cole). Trina displays her sensitive side on the aforementioned tracks and addresses alternative aspects of her attraction to men, besides sex.
Tracks like "Look Back At Me" (featuring Killer Mike) and "Hot Commodity" are fraught with Trina's seductive swagger. However, her catchy hooks and tantalizing topics aren't enough to mask her lack of lyricism. So, yes she has matured as far as her style and the topics she chooses to rap about, but she still needs to brush up on her lyrical execution.
