UK rapper M.I.A. -- whose song "Paper Planes" has helped push her career to new heights as of late -- recently said that her pregnancy has helped her tone down her anger issues.
She tells USA Today that because of her impending first child, she's become a lot more aware of what she sing and/or rap about. "When I sing, I have to be aware that someone can hear me inside," M.I.A. said. "It's really strange. I definitely feel less angry."
While the rapper prepares for her first bundle of joy in February, she and her fiancé, Exit frontman Benjamin Brewer, have not picked out baby names yet.
"I need to see the baby and see who it is, what kind of personality it'll have," she says. "I need to give a name that is the character of the child. We're quite relaxed about the whole thing."
There's no name yet, M.I.A. already has high expectation for her baby. She already feels that her baby will follow in the footsteps of her musical parents.
"I think my baby is going to start off making club music," said M.I.A. "That's all I've been listening to. Of course, you never know ... It might end up being an accountant."
However, despite a strong musical background, she doesn't want her kid jumping into the music world and has a plan to steer it away. "We actually don't want our kid to do music," says M.I.A. "So we're going to buy it loads of instruments. ...so that it will completely rebel and go the other way."
