Michigan rapper, MC Breed, was found dead on Saturday (November 22) at a friend's home in his home state, his publicist confirmed. The rapper (real name: Eric Breed) was just 36 years old.

Breed's manager, Darryl Morris, told the The Detroit News that the rapper's body was found at a friend's home in Ypsilant, MI, where he had died in his sleep.

Further details regarding his death have not been released.

Breed was hospitalized in September, after collapsing during a pick-up basketball game in Atlanta. After being admitted to the hospital, the rapper was placed on life support for two days, due to kidney failure.

He slightly recovered from his illness. At press time, it is unclear if his previously health problems contributed to his death.

The rapper was "a musical legend of Flint," Carter McWright, owner of Music Planet and an associate of Breed's told local newspaper The Flint Journal.

Throughout his career, Breed recorded 13 albums. His final album, The New Prescription, was released in 2004. The most success album of his career was MC Breed & DFC, which (according to the paper) was multi-platinum, and boasted his hit single "Ain't No Future In Yo Frontin'."

He'd also collaborated with the likes of Tupac, E-40, Too Short, and The D.O.C., among others.

R.I.P. Breed, he was driving over the Rowland overpass in Novato, Ca & tossed out his demo tape. It hit my g/f in the head. The cops which were posted up saw what happened pulled him over. They asked my g/f if she wanted to press charges against him for assault. She didn't want to. He hooked us up w/ a grip of mix tapes, he also hooked us up w/ tickets to the 106 KMEL summer jam. You'll be missed playa'!!!

Breed is one of those artists that you instantly know when you hear him. He was bigger everywhere else than he was in Mi. He has an abundance of quality material and cameos on the hits of alot of legends. It's sad to hear about another gen x'er passing so young. As an artist, he is one of those performers that wasn't appreciated enough for his work.

I know don't nobody care anymore but this is crazy how this suppose to be a culture but ain't no body doing anything to help the masses of this culture educated themselves in their health. Something is wrong some where. Mental and Physical, the hip hop community need reconditioning and they wait until the person is stiff to give you an update on what's up with them.
