Although Snoop Dogg one-upped him by showing up for the CMT Music Awards earlier this year, Lil Wayne made an appearance at Wednesday night's (November 12) CMA Awards show in Nashville, Tennessee.
The New Orleans rapper joined Kid Rock onstage to help the rocker perform his hit single, "All Summer Long." However, Weezy didn't rap. Actually, he didn't utter one word.
Instead, the rapper -- dressed in a Tennessee Titans jersey matching Kid Rock's -- played the background, strumming on a guitar as he mimicked playing the instrument alongside the musician's real guitarist, reports the Associated Press.
Lil Wayne may be the first real rapper to appear at the CMAs in its 42-year-history. In 2004, Cowboy Troy -- who calls his style of rap "hick-hop" -- performed, but he doesn't count.
Kid Rock and Weezy also appeared onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards in September.
In related news, Lil Wayne's highly anticipated Dedication 3 mixtape with DJ Drama is slated to leak Thursday (November 13), and will include over 20 tracks.
The tape includes guest appearances from Lil Wayne's Young Money artists such as Jae Millz, Nicki Minaj, Tyga and Lil Twist, as well as Drama's artists Willie The Kid and La the Darkman.
