Just weeks after being released from a Georgia hospital, where he was treated for severe burns following a tragic plane crash last month, DJ AM is getting back to work.
The popular celebrity DJ has been tapped to man the wheels of steel for a Jay-Z performance in Hollywood on Wednesday (October 15), and will accompany the legendary rapper on tour.
According to AM's publicist, Jenni Weinman, the DJ will serve as Jay's official DJ for Wednesday's show, which will mark the reopening of Hollywood's Palladium Theater, reports MTV, and following tour dates although dates are yet to be confirmed.
So far, Jay-Z is only scheduled for two other dates -- October 16 in Houston and October 25 in Charlottesville, Virginia.
AM told People that his gig with Jay is the "biggest thing that's happened in my career."
The set will be his first show since the plane crash in September that left him and Travis Barker seriously injured with second- and third-degree burns to his face and left arm. During the crash, Barker's assistant, Chris "Lil Chris" Baker; and Barker's bodyguard, Charles "Che" Still; and two pilots lost their lives.
Both AM and Barker are expected to make full recoveries.
