Actress Halle Berry may be 42 years old and a mother, but popular men's magazine Esquire has named the Oscar-winning actress the Sexiest Woman Alive.
In an article posted on Esquire.com on Tuesday (October 7), Berry poses in a parody of a 2000 cover photograph of former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and writes about how she feels about winning the sexy title.
"I don't know exactly what it means, but being 42 and having just had a baby, I think I'll take it," Berry wrote.
According to the actress, right now, at her prime age, she's sexier than she's ever been. Not because of clothes or her body, but because she comfortable in her own skin.
"I know damned well I'm sexier now than I used to be. Let me make an argument here -- not so much for me, or even for my age being sexy, but for what I've learned," Berry said. "I've picked up a little over the years. Sexy is not about wearing sexy clothes or shaking your booty until you damn near get hip dysplasia; it's about knowing that sexiness is a state of mind -- a comfortable state of being. It's about loving yourself even in your most unlovable moments. I know a little bit about that."
However, she takes in the honor in stride, but says she can't talk it all to herself.
"I share this title with every woman, because every woman is a nominee for it at any moment," she says.
For its November issue, Esquire dressed Berry in a racier version of Clinton's suit jacket and blue tie to recreate an iconic cover for its 75th anniversary celebration.
In the article she describes things she finds sexy, and some of those things include spaghetti and wine, which she says are major turn-ons.
