Lil Scrappy is set to return, as he prepares for the release of Silence and Secrecy (Black Rag Gang), a group effort from the rapper and his crew G'$ Up.
Memphis MC and production duo SMG, comprised of brothers Mac Chris and Mac Steve, join Scrappy in G'$ Up, alongside an appearance from former Crime Mob member Diamond and Atlanta native Jo Dolla.
"SMG have their own sound. Memphis has it's own sound. Atlanta has it's own sound. When you put them together, that sh** is bomb, it's gonna explode. That's what this Lil Scrappy & G'$ Up is on," said the rapper.
The new album will serve as the first official release from Scrappy's own G'$ Up Records imprint, which will team up with Philadelphia-based Good Hands Records.
"We are beyond excited to be working with Scrappy on Silence and Secrecy, said Good Hands Records president DJ Truth. "This is the start of a huge 2009 for Scrappy."
The G'$ Up project is Scrappy's first since 2006's Bred 2 Die, Born 2 Live. The album boasted the single "Money In The Bank," which peaked at #28 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Scrappy his second top 30 entry. 2004's "No Problem" peaked at #29.
Also, during that time, he launched G'$ Up TV on Youtube, gaining close to 15 million views. Then, in 2008, the unofficial Prince Of The South was released and subsequently cease and desisted.
