Yeah lyrically Pac was not saavy with his lines. But back then you had your East Coast lyricist, and your West Coast straight shootin gangsta shit. That's where the coasts collided. He didn't need to be a lyricist that's why niggaz like Biggie, L, and Pun were lyricalist. Pac was straight forward but still LYRICAL. Back then, when you heard hit em up he didn't come with no lyricist shit. It was straight! "That's why I fucked yo bitch" that was the most heated diss of all time to me. Wasn't nobody fading any major artist in the West then, when it came to dissin niggaz. Niggaz in the West Coast grew up learning how to diss other hoods and turfs, it is still a way of life. Now niggaz like the game is fuccin it up.

I think it takes more than a few critics and writers to belittle what Pac's work did and continues to do. Who is anyone to judge another mans life? We all go through our lives and try to make the best with what we have. The thing I admire most about Pac is that he embodied all the emotions of a young and very talented man and did so on the world stage. You got to see him go through his ups and downs, you got to see him grow and I saw the growth and desire to be a better man. Yes, he was flawed but how many of us are perfect. I think he was a young man who had the capacity to do even more amazing things and if he had the opportunity im sure we would have seen him do just that. I wont say he was the best ever but he was an incredible rapper and thinker. Watch Ressurection and tell me that he wasnt intelligent and that he didnt genuinley care for people. Any man that gives hope to millions with his words has to mean something. Overated....no, underated...most defenitley.
Just my opinion though.

...i hear ya Loon but when i think in terms of lyricism it even goes beyond content. anyone can make a valid point. hell, the truth is you don't really have to have a brain even to do so. that's more of a matter of listening to what's not being said and simply saying it yourself. ...and that's the game in a nutshell! but how creative has Pac ever been with his word play ?? never! he was as predictable as they come. I didn't say he wasn't good, he had great energy and a great deliverance. but did he harmonize with his music - no. there's a difference between harmony and just flowing. and what about the arrangement of his words? not really that impressive - honestly, he was a simple straight shooter.

Pac overated?? That's blasphemy in it's own words, this man started a trend that's been followed since his start in music. He started the thug trend not dope dealer but thug trend. He was the first successful artist to cross over to films. Hell All Eyes On Me went 8 x platinum when he was alive. He's the most sold hip hop artist of all time. So you going to tell me Lil Wayne is the greatest and Pac is overrated.... no wonder why HIP HOP IS DEAD!!!

Tupac is lyrical. Define lyrical...To me lyrical means your rhymes have meaning. No just punch lines like Lil Wayne which was too young to really understand what Pac was talking about.Pac redefined gangsta rap. He reinvented beef. Shit Pac words was strong enough to have a whole coast behind him. Is Pac overrated maybe a lil, because you can't say that an artist is or was the greatest ever. Pac always talked about issue that where real. Niggaz now talk about bullshit, which means Pac would be and still is relevent till this day. You can't tell me that the "Letter to the President" Ain't relevent. Pac is a lyricist for you Lil wayne, souljah boy, shawty lo, ass niggaz.

Did any of you mother fuckers have a Pac CD before he teamed up with Dre and Suge? Doubt it. Have any of you bought every CD he's had put out since he died? Doubt it. Without jumping to wikipedia do you know what rap group Pac started out in? Most of you don't. That being said, there are so many people who claim that Pac is great, but only know All Eyez On Me, and the Seven Day Theory album that came out right after he died. Quit sayin someone is the greatest, when you more than likely don't know his full body of work. Was he a pioneer? I'd say that, but greatest all time, not really. BIG killed him in the battles, and on the track from Pac's movie. Get over it, he's over rated.

Fuck This little no-name, never-heard -of magazine. 2Pac was definately under-rated when he was alive. 2pac was a artist, actor, poet, entertainer, inovator. No one came out with a double album in rap till he did. No one in rap a had religious title for a song (Hail Mary). Look at how many song titles and ideas been stole from him ( C-murder's - When We Ride on our Enemies, Master P - Only God Can Judge me, Jim Jones - Bomb First) He started the "Thug" trend. Lil Wayne's out of his little bird-brained mind, if he thinks 2Pac wasn't one of the best. LIL WAYNE HASNT BROUGHT ANYTHING NEW TO THE TABLE BESIDES STICKING HIS TONGUE DOWN BIRDMAN'S THROAT. HE NEEDS TO KEEP HIS MOUTH WHERE IT BELONGS, ON BIRDMANS FACE.
