A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed against rapper Lil Wayne by a New Orleans based jeweler who claims he was not paid after delivering two pieces of jewelry to the rapper.

In a lawsuit, filed last year in a Miami-Dade Circuit Court, Jack Sutton Fine Jewelry claimed Lil Wayne (real name: Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) owed his company $146,000 dollars, after Weezy agreed to purchase a $138,000 diamond ring and $32,000 gold and diamond necklace by phone.

Sutton alleged that he only received one payment of $24,000 and the rapper stopped paying, although he agreed to make monthly payments.

The Miami Herald reports that eight months after filing, they were finally able to serve Weezy with a copy of the complaint, and they expect to settle the suit soon -- either with a payment or by returning the ring.

"We reached a settlement," Ron Sweeney, Lil Wayne's lawyer, told the paper. "Everybody's happy."

In addition to failing to pay his jeweler, it seems as though Lil Wayne may have done the same to the IRS. The paper also reported that the rapper owes the IRS $977,840.81 for his income tax, according to a May 6 notice of federal tax lien filed with Miami-Dade County.

Sweeney, however, claims his client is current on his taxes.
