Dancehall superstar Sean Paul was arrested Friday night (August 8) for possession of marijuana, following a performance in Sweden.

According to x17Online.com, Paul, along with several other artists, were busted when they were searched by police after performing at the Uppsala Reggae Festival, one of the largest reggae festivals in the country.

Authorities also reportedly sent police dogs to Sean Paul's room at the First Hotel Linne to search for anything further. It is unclear if anything was found during their search though.

The hotel's manager declined to comment on the incident.

At press time, it was unclear what the exact charges Sean Paul faces, aside from marijuana possession, and if he faces any jail time.

Wow, sending drug dogs into a "reggae" performers hotel room.....Cooool... Why's he a dumbass, for smoking pot in a hotel room? Not brilliant, but I must assume if you frequently travel and frequently smoke pot you've done this. Bullshit at anyrate, I wouldn't be bringing sweden any more of my talent if I was that young man.

WTF, Sean Paul gets busted with drugs (which are against the law, even if I believe it should be legalized), and y'all call the nation of Sweden haters? Why don't y'all call Sean Paul a dumbass for gettin' caught!? He is a dumbass who got busted with weed, and he'll probably just pay some $$$ and that will be that. Sean Paul should be lucky he didn't get busted in the U.S. with that shit...or else he'd be in jail, bent over, with a real reason to be like "UH-OH!!" lmao!

When did Sean Paul become a Reggaeton artist? He makes dancehall goddamnit! This is common in Sweden were the government treats weed as crack or heroin, just in the recent past they took Busta and Snoop on the same charges. The fine for drug use/small possession in Sweden is a bit over $200 US (no jail time). Which makes the whole thing even more ridicolous.
