Famed jeweler Jacob Arabo, aka Jacob The Jeweler, and his New York based company filed a lawsuit against rapper Wyclef Jean on Tuesday (July 29), claiming the rapper owes them for jewelry sold to him on his house tab.
According to the Associated Press, Jacob & Co filed papers in a Manhattan court this week, claiming that between March 2002 and January 2006 Jean racked up a $765,100 bill. Although he's made payments, he still owes $319,680, despite "repeated demands for payment."
Jean had purchased an unspecified numbers of watches and jewelry.
Jacob was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in federal prison for lying to investigators of a multistate drug ring, back in June.
He was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine, as well as forfeit $2 million to the government. He will begin serving his sentence next January.
