Bay Area rapper Mac Minister was found guilty of the murder of Kansas City's Fat Tone by a jury on Monday (July 21).

According to the Associated Press, the 37-year-old rapper (real name: Andre Dow) now faces life in prison after being convicted of first-degree murder on Monday.

Mac Minister was arrested in March 2006, and charged with the 2005 slaying of Fat Tone (real name: Anthony Watkins) and his friend, Jermaine Akins. Fat Tone was just 24 years of age.

The rapper was accused of luring the two men to a housing development area in Las Vegas with promises of hooking them up with Snoop Dogg. Instead of networking with the star rapper, they were murdered.

While nothing has been proven, police call the Las Vegas slayings revenge for the November 2004 drive-by murder of rapper Mac Dre in Kansas City.

While some suspect the murders were a small part of a West Coast versus Midwest rap war, many rappers from both areas told us in the past that was nonsense.

"They are creating something that isn't even there and it could get someone hurt," said Darrell "The Saint" Thomas of the group, Verbal Contact, a positive Kansas City area rap group. "We are just people trying to take care of our families and these type of rumors cut us at the core of how we make our living."

It wasn't immediately known when Mac Minister will be sentenced at press time.

Damn I remember when this happened. I guess dude is a gangsta fa real. I remember be4 this happened him and e40 got into a fight at the source award and they say he got e40 necklace. They say fat tone killed mac dre but I dunno.
