Bay Area rapper Keak Da Sneak was reportedly arrested last Thursday (July 10) and booked on four felony charges.
According to reports, the pioneering hyphy rapper was arrested on firearm charges and resisting arrest, just hours after attending a funeral in Oakland, California.
Keak was held in custody over the weekend for an outstanding warrant and appeared before the judge on Monday (July 14). He is scheduled to post bail and be released within the next.
At press time, it was unclear if Keak had been released on bail or not. The rapper's legal team says he will be exonerated from all charges.
Keak Da Sneak released his first album since 2004 in June titled Defied. The album featured guest appearances by Daz Dillinger, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Paul Wall, Akon and Too Short, among others.
According to Keak, he went outside his comfort zone for new record and didn't cater strictly to his local area like he has in the past.
"I tried to make good music and create something for everybody, for every region," the rapper told BallerStatus.com recently. "I wanted to put something out that was more appealing to everybody."
