The Game Says His Retirement Won't Be Like Jay-Z's

We've heard The Game say it several times during promotion for his upcoming third album LAX -- he's retiring. Well, everybody's heard that before from several other rappers.

Jay-Z said it once before, and then returned with a new album. Scarface said it two years ago, and now, he's hinting at it again.

For The Game, it's gonna be a different story. At least, that's what he says. The rapper says the time he spends away from his family is taken away by music, so after LAX, it may be time to hang it up for him.

When he does though, he says that's it. There's no return.

"I've missed a lot more of my family than I have rap in recent years and it's time to address the balance," he told WENN recently. "I'm focused on the upbringing of my children. That's important to me.

"Jay-Z came out of retirement. I can't see that happening for me," Game continued.

Whether he stays true to his word remains to be seen. We'll all have to wait and see if it's a publicity stunt, or the real thing.

Just yesterday, an insider from Ice Cube's camp says Game may replace Mack 10 for a possible Westside Connection. So if this rings true, I guess Game's plans for retirement are out the window.
